A needs analysis is something that you need to do in order to determine the gap analysis between your current conditions to the conditions you want or desire. Gathering all relevant data is essential in helping you make important decisions that will tell you how to achieve those needs. For example, if you feel as if certain departments in your company are underperforming, then conducting a sample analysis will help you figure out what type of training should be done to get satisfactory results.
1. Determine the Desired Outcome
Everything involved in the needs analysis will depend entirely on the outcome that is being desired. For example, the desired outcome when conducting a simple analysis of your business marketing analysis needs will usually involve success in terms of customer engagement and high sales amounts. Be sure to provide complete and direct descriptions when writing these into the document.
2. Provide Information on the Person Responsible for Conducting the Analysis
Make sure to start with that person's name. Be sure to include his/her first name, last name and middle initial to avoid issues concerning identity. You must then provide any additional information if deemed necessary. This would include anything from the job position title to contact details. Also, do not forget to include the complete date in which the research analysis was conducted.
3. Identify the Needs
Now that you know what outcome is expected, the next is to point out the needs that have to be fulfilled in order to reach it. When doing this, figure out what exactly has to happen to get the desired results. Whether there are needs that have already been met or have yet to be worked on, be sure to point out each one with detailed descriptions in your analysis report.
4. Point Out the Strengths and Weaknesses
This is something that you will need to do in order to take advantage of what can help fulfill those needs and to figure out what it is that's preventing you from reaching them. Make sure that whatever strengths and weaknesses you put into the analysis worksheet are relevant in terms of affecting whether or not the desired outcome is achieved.
5. Describe Each Action Being Done to Fulfill Those Needs
For each one that you put into the legal document, be sure to accurately explain them in a way that the reader can understand how exactly they should be done. Then you will need to come up with a rating system that will point out whether certain actions are being performed in an effective manner, or if they need to be worked on.
6. Provide the Results of the Analysis and Recommendations
At the end of the document, use all of the data gathered to determine whether needs were fulfilled and if the desired outcome is reached. You will also want to provide any recommendations that you may have that can be used to meet those unfulfilled needs, further utilize strengths, or solve weaknesses and issues that are preventing certain needs from being fulfilled.
