Exporting videos takes time, depending on the length of the video project, the quality, and the inclusions within the file. So make sure you plan your exporting process before your client requests it.

  • Step 1: Open Final Cut Pro

You will first need to access the software, go to where it is located on your local computer or desktop, and double-click the logo shortcut. This will then open the software where you can proceed with selecting to open the video project you are working on or will want to export.

A batch share cannot contain both projects and clips so make sure your selection only includes projects or clips.

  • Step 2: Select Master File

After the software has loaded and you have opened your project, press “Shift + Cmd + A” to ensure nothing is selected. Afterward, you can then click on “File” on the top menu bar, click “Share,” then select “Master File.”

  • Step 3: Set Export Specifications

A new window will open for you to set and select which export preferences the video will be exported as. You can select where the file will be placed on your desktop, the resolution, color source, audio file format, and other details. When you are satisfied and finished with changing the preferences, click the “Next” button.

  • Step 4: Export the Project

Another window will open up allowing you to rename the file. Input whichever suits your preference. And to export the Final Cut Pro project to the specified file format, click “Save” in the bottom-right corner where you can also see the options of what file format to save it.
