Elements of an Effective Business Brochure
1. Attention-grabbing cover page: The cover page is the first thing that audiences see when they lay their eyes on a brochure, and it should be enough to grab their attention people and urge them to get their hands on a copy. Ideally, your brochure’s cover page should consist of the business’ name and logo, a tagline that’s catchy and informative, and a brief introduction of the brochure.
2. About us section: While the cover page is meant to introduce readers to the brochure, this element serves as an introduction to the business. This section briefly but thoroughly explains how the business was organized as well as what the business aims to do. Also, this section may include both the business’ vision and mission statements.
3. List of products or services offered: Unlike other types of marketing materials, brochures are usually very detailed when it comes to identifying the products or services that they are offering. This is usually presented in bullet points with short descriptions after every bullet. However, it would be best to limit your list to only those products or services that you wish to highlight to keep your brochure from getting crammed.
4. Relevant photos and/or illustrations: Don’t just incorporate any photo or illustration to your brochure, they should always be relevant to your purpose. In addition, it would be best to use them sparingly because you want to design a brochure and not a collage of photos. And of course, always make it a point to use high-quality images for your brochures.
5. Testimonials section: This is another section that is commonly seen only on brochures and this lists down statements gathered from actual clients and customers. Be sure to ask permission from your clients before using their names and their statements for your brochures.
6. Contact details: No marketing tool should be without contact details. It’s common for people to ask questions before actually doing what the brochure is telling them to do, which is why you should make your contact details visible on your brochures. And when adding your contact details, you might as well include a call to action to further make your contact details visible and also to inform readers what you’re expecting from them.

How to Create a Functional Business Brochure
1. Set a budget for your brochure: Planning is essential when trying to achieve a target, this will help to simplify the task and make the target easier to reach. One aspect that needs to be planned is the budget which helps to determine how much the business is willing to spend for creating your brochures. When setting the budget, make sure that it is realistic and is based on factors including the quality and extent of the design.
2. Prepare your content and the images: The next aspect that you will need to plan are the elements that you wish to include in your brochure. For the content, you may write a draft or an outline to distinguish the details that are highly relevant from those that aren’t. And for the images, you may choose to use your own or download stock photos from the internet, just make sure that they aren’t watermarked.
3. Make use of a business brochure template: Creating your own brochure isn’t really difficult although it may be challenging to make it stand out. But by using any of our templates, you’ll be able to make high-quality business brochures almost effortlessly. Simply download a template and edit it using the appropriate editing tool that’s compatible with the format.
4. Evaluate and proofread the edited brochure template: Ensuring high-quality design and content can lead to a positive impression on your business. This is a good enough reason for you to evaluate the design and proofread the content of your brochure, to determine whether or not it is enough to draw in new customers and keep old ones.
5. Print your brochures: Printing brochures can be done using regular printers although you might need to stock up on the ink toners if you’re printing a large quantity. But if you don’t want to worry about that, you can always get your brochures printed in printing companies for an inexpensive fee.
Simple Tips for a Stunning Business Brochure Layout

- Regardless if you’re using custom fonts, just make sure that they’re readable.
Types of Brochures
1. Bi-fold brochure: Also known as the half-fold, the bi-fold brochure consists of two panels separated by a fold in the middle. Some people often consider this to be different than the half-fold since some bi-fold brochures tend to have off-centered folds which result in two slightly unequal panels. This type of brochure is ideal for simple product presentations, making them very common among businesses.
2. Tri-fold brochure: A tri-fold brochure splits the paper stock into three panels of equal widths with the two side panels brought together in the middle. This type of brochure is also very common among businesses and is perfect for general purposes.
3. Gate-fold brochure: Unlike the tri-fold type, a gate-fold brochure divides the paper stock into three unequal parts with the middle panel being wider than the two on the sides. This brochure type commonly uses the letter size paper (8.5″ x 11″) and works perfectly with presentations that are heavy on the graphics.
4. Z-fold brochure: Same as the regular tri-fold, this brochure type divides the paper stock into three parts, the only difference between the two is that the Z-fold actually folds each panel over the other forming a Z-shape. The z-fold brochure type also works great for general presentations.
5. Roll-fold brochure: Also known as a barrel-fold brochure, this one has more folds and panels than the trifold. This type of brochure usually uses the legal size paper (8.5″ x 14″) and is folded in a rolling motion.
6. Accordion-fold brochure: This type of brochure is basically an extension to the Z-fold wherein this one has four or more panels, just like the roll-fold type. But just like the Z-fold, the accordion-fold brochure also has folds that are stacked on top of the other until the entire brochure resembles the accordion instrument.
