As a result, studios turned into funding entities and became responsible for distribution of the films created by partner or affiliated production companies and even independent or freelance producers and many of them sold large parts of what used to be great studio spaces to the real estate market. Directors became more famous in the early decades of the movies. “Stars” or artists gained a large publicity winning the world over with multitude of fans buying into their face value; James Dean’s rebel image with his smoldering looks, Marilyn Monroe taking over every hot-blooded male’s dreams and Grace Kelly’s fairy-tale farewell to the entertainment industry. It made sense to pay them more and their notorious, jet-set lives became the clamor of the public, making it harder for independent producers to book actors of good caliber for low-budget films. Casts grew, budgets became more demanding and naturally, the producer’s role played a major part in bringing films to the market. You can also like investment contract templates.
