How to Write a Daily Lesson Plan [10+ Templates to Download]

Lesson planning is a very crucial part of your journey in teaching as a teacher. Having a detailed lesson plan before taking your class will make you feel more confident about what you are going to teach in the classroom. It acts as a very important element in the teaching-learning process.

How to Write a Daily Lesson Plan in 6 Steps

Step 1: Title of Your Plan

The title of your lesson plan should be able to give you the gist of what your plan is going to be about. A lesson plan should give you a step-by-step essential guide for learning. Your title should contain what is your major aim of the whole lesson plan. Your goal should be very simple.

Step 2: Sketch your Outline

Note down ideas that cover all the basic topics of the lesson for a better understanding of the subject by the students. Be open to ideas the students give you too, as that might always lead to an open class interactive session. That way, the students will understand the concepts taught in class better.

Step 3: Know your Pupils

It is very important to know on which wavelength are your students in, during the class. You should be very observant of how they behave in class, their rate of grasping a concept, their interest in the classroom, questioning and answering abilities, etc. That will help you know and assess them easier.

Step 4: Learning Methods

Always have a plan ready for all the teaching methods you will be using to teach in the classroom. Conduct as many group interactivity sessions as possible as that might make students open up about their thoughts and opinion about the world and you might be shocked to hear some of them!

Step 5: Resources to be Used

Make sure you have all the resources ready that can be used in the class like- worksheets, assignments, questionnaires, etc. You can also have your lesson plan in a PDF format to be shown in class and ask the students whether or not you have completed it correctly. They will be of great help to get a review of your lesson plan.

Step 6: Assessment

Do not be partial to any student. Make a fair assessment of all the students and the results of the lesson taught. As knowledge levels of each student might differ, you must assess their answers to the questions asked accordingly and always encourage them to do better, regardless of their performance.
