The Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) model is a study-based and proven an instructional model that has manifested the effect in communicating the needs of English Learners throughout the USA. It focuses on teaching content and cultivating language skills together. There is a wide range of SIOP lesson plan templates available.
It is important that you build your lesson in a way that the student can connect their knowledge and experience with what is being taught in the lesson. Keeping in mind the age and level of education, lessons must be prepared accordingly. It should involve writing, speaking, reading and listening skills.
Teachers should try to make exclusive and exact links to the student’s experiences and what is being taught in the class as new concepts. Vocabulary should be given key importance as that is one of the most important things an English learner should have.
You must use language that is easy for the students to understand. You should know the proficiency level of the students to make their lessons. You should try not to be a 100% guide for the students as they learn better through experience. Make a lesson plan in PDF, videos, etc. and show them how to use the language and where to do so.
Make sure that you have interactivity sessions with the students to check on their grammar and vocabulary. Also, try and make a list of activities wherein the students can interact amongst themselves. Let them be a part of the class by pooling in their ideas and opinions about the concept. Give them activities that revolve around the subject, so you can assess and evaluate how much they have understood from the class.
Students should be given ample opportunities to showcase and apply their language skills through activities in the class. You can give them worksheets, assignments, encourage them to take part in elocutions, debates, seminars, etc. where there is a lot of possibility and opportunity for them to increase their skills and learn new information. Give them enough material to practise and learn the language at their own pace.
The given learning objectives in the lesson plan should be in sync with what is being taught in class. Engage the students to use the language as much as they can to make the best use of it. Ask them if they want to plan any activities that might interest the class and those activities should revolve around the lesson being taught. Advice them to talk in English only, that way they can get better in their writing, speaking and reading skills.
It is very important to know how well the students have understood the contents of the lesson and how can they execute it on their own. As learning it might take a lot of time and effort, be sure to be of any help your students would want from you. It is important that you review and evaluate them on a daily basis and correct them if they make any mistakes. Timely assessments are very necessary for the fast learning of the language.
A basic SIOP lesson plan consists of the name of the academic institution, the address of the institution and any further contact details of the academic institution in it. It should contain all the 8 components in it, so that making a free plan on English language would be a lot easier.
The standards of learning, objectives, subject area, lesson topic, language and content, key vocabularies to be used, materials required, etc. should always be mentioned in a SIOP lesson plan without fail. Also, words of motivation should be mentioned in it to encourage students to reach the objective effortlessly.

The above template is lesson plan for grade 1 and grade 4 Science class. It has basic details about what the students will be able to do after the completion of the lesson, with certain content and language objectives. It also has in it the key vocabulary points, SIOP features and lesson sequence with a suitable built background for each grade mentioned.
Since SIOP has a lot of activities mentioned along side with objectives that can be of great help to understand the class better. There are high and low order questions, which would be easier to solve once students get a hold of the subject and the concepts being taught in the class.

There are certain common core standards set by an educational body that have to be met by any academic institution. It also includes details of materials required, possible essential questions for the lesson, time for each activity, etc.
