Google Docs Templates

Google does not offer a desktop version of either Docs or Sheets that would run outside of a browser. Google used to offer Google Docs Editors desktop apps through the Chrome Apps but they were retired.

On your computer, go to drive.google.com. Right-click the Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides file you want to save offline. Turn on "Available offline."

The steps to recover Google Docs files are: 

• Open the Google Drive app (to view offline files) or the Docs, Sheets, or Slides app (to view and edit offline files)
• Tap on (in the top left corner)
• Tap on Offline.
• Tap on the file you'd like to access.

Google Docs is a very powerful real-time collaboration and document authoring tool. Multiple users can edit a document at the same time while seeing each others' changes instantaneously. Users can produce text documents, slide presentations, spreadsheets, drawings, and surveys.

Unlike Microsoft Word, Google Docs is free to use. Google Docs is free for the average user. If you want to purchase a “Business” version of G Suite, monthly plans start at $5 per user.
