Do you run a transportation service? What about a consultant agency? Whatever it is that your business offers, invoices have a critical role in your transactions. After all, according to the words of The Balance (a business-focused resource), not only does an invoice provide order and payment details to a client, but it also has bookkeeping purposes.
There’s a fair bit of time and effort that goes into making an invoice from scratch. So, to help you reduce that hassle, check out our tips (below) on how to create a reusable sample invoice in Apple Pages!
One very important aspect of invoices is their various bits of identification.
With a blank document open in Apple Pages, begin by writing down the invoice’s title. At the top of the page, give the document a fairly descriptive name that mentions the exact contents of your bill--something similar to “House Renovation Commission Invoice” or “Tour Guide Service Invoice.”
Next, in one of the page’s upper corners, insert your business or company’s logo. Use a proper resolution for the required size. Add the logo by drag-dropping the image file directly from your computer’s storage and onto the document page, or go to Media > Photos and choose the file from there.
After the initial segment of your sample invoice, enter its ID number, order number, and release date.
Next, follow it up by writing down certain information about your business. For this, include the name, location, phone number, and email address. Provide the same information about the client, too.
The main portion of your invoice document is the order and payment details.
This part involves adding a grid table layout by opening the Table menu and picking your desired format option from there. For the categorical headers, have each column header say Description, Rate/Unit Price, Hours/Quantity, and Total. Just underneath those columns, reserve space for the Subtotal, Tax, Discounts, and Grand Total. Once all the labels are put in place, fill in the table with the necessary information and calculations.
Depending on what your business or service requires, there are several different additional bits to add. Shipping details, payment terms, and approval signatures are some examples.
And so, with our handy tips, you’ll be saving plenty of time by composing your own sample invoice design! You’re always welcome to come back for a review or to download one of our Sample Invoice Templates!
