Time management is important, regardless if you're a worker, student, etc. But the problem is, not everyone knows how to manage their time wisely. According to a study, an average worker spends 80% of his or her time doing unimportant things. See how much time gets wasted daily? Yes, taking a break is essential, but you should know when is the right time to work and the right time to rest. As the demand for productivity increases, it's vital that you know how to balance your time between working and leisure.
Having a planner is one way of getting your schedules right. It visually presents your day to day tasks and agendas, so you'll know how to balance your responsibilities well. It also keeps you well-organized. We have provided a guide below on how to make a schedule planner in Word, so you can start organizing your tasks and agendas. It's best to use Microsoft Word as your tool as it lets you create documents with ease.
Open Microsoft Word, create a new document, and start with your cover page. Your cover page needs to look aesthetically pleasing, so you'll be motivated and inspired to open and use it all the time. To achieve a cute and minimal look, add your name using calligraphy. You can add the lettering you've created in Word by downloading then extracting the .zip file that contains the font, entering the "Appearance and Organization" category to your control panel, then selecting Fonts. Select and drop your new font into the window, and it'll now be available in Word.
The second part of your planner should be your monthly calendar. Since there are 12 months in a year, you'll need 12 pages for your calendar section alone. To create your monthly calendar, go to Insert Tab, and click the Table button. Place your cursor on the first cell, and slide it down until you're satisfied with the number of rows and columns. Make sure that the boxes have enough space where you can write your appointment details.
The third part is your to-do list. You'll use this part for listing down things such as items to bring, projects to make, etc. Put a box column on the side to make a checklist. This way, it'll be easy to identify what have you already done or what to do next. Make sure you indicate the date of the week up top for every page of your weekly to-do list.
The remaining pages of your planner will be your notes section. It's the part where you input some information and whatnots. Just leave these pages blank.
Once you're done creating every section, it's time to unleash the artist in you and start decorating. You want to be inspired each time you use your planner, so make it look fun and exciting. Add cute design elements and pleasing colors. Make sure your labels are clear and visible. Don't forget to hit Save once you're finished.
