How to Have a Class Discussion On Google Classroom
Class discussions are the very core facet of Google Classroom where learning and teaching processes collaborate. And here is a proper tutorial that guides you on how to have a class discussion on Google Classroom.

Step 1: Sign In With Your Account
To access your classes in Google Classroom, sign in first using your authorized G Suite or personal Google account. If you do not have an account yet, you can create one by visiting the Google website on your browser or mobile app. Students who are given G Suite accounts by the school should make sure that the account is activated by the administrator.

Step 2: Create a Question
On your class dashboard, click the Classwork tab which you can find at the top of the tool’s screen. Select the Create button and click Questions. A menu box for Questions will appear. Write your question and provide instructions so your student can better understand what was asked of them.

Step 3: Customize Your Question
If you want to create a multiple-answer question, you can change the option by clicking the short answer box on the right side of the question. You can also add links, forms, documents, and other materials by selecting the logo options below the instruction box. Before posting your question, make sure that your students can interact by clicking the “Students can reply to each other” and “Students can edit answer” which you can find in the far right corner of the app.

Step 4: Click Ask or Schedule to Post Question
If you want the discussion to commence immediately, you can click Ask after editing the information on your question. You can also choose to post the question for another period by choosing the Schedule option.
Why can’t my students see the question I posted?
There are different factors that might lead you to this issue. One, not seeing the question might be a technical problem contributed by your Internet connection or mobile compatibility for gadget users. Second, you were not able to check the two options that will allow students to interact. Lastly, your students were not included or got unenrolled in the class.
I cannot answer my teacher’s question. What should I do?
The question might be customized for some students only and that is why you are not able to answer it. If you are part of the class but still have a problem answering posted questions, tell your teacher for help.
I can’t add a link to my question. What should I do?
Check your Internet connection on this one. This might be a technical problem.
