How to Open/Insert a PowerPoint in Microsoft Whiteboard

Previous iterations of Microsoft Whiteboard allowed the users to instantly insert or open PowerPoint files into the whiteboard, but the most recent update has limited the type of files that can be inserted into the PowerPoint. If the user wants to insert a PowerPoint into the whiteboard, they may do so by first exporting it as a PDF.

  • Step 1: Open Microsoft Whiteboard on The User’s PC or Laptop

To start the whole process, the user must first open any version of Microsoft Whiteboard on their PC or Laptop. The user will have to sign in with the Microsoft Office account to access the software.

  •  Step 2: Choose or Create a Whiteboard to Insert the PowerPoint in

After signing in, the user will then choose a pre-existing whiteboard to insert the PowerPoint in. If the user doesn’t have or want to use a pre-existing whiteboard, the user will have to create a new whiteboard through the “Add whiteboard” button on the landing page.

  • Step 3: Open the Create Pane

The Create Pane allows the user to insert various objects and documents into the Whiteboard. The user can access or open the Create pane by clicking the + button on the left side of the screen.

  • Step 4: Insert the PowerPoint PDF

After the user has opened the Create Pane, they will need to press the “Documents” button to insert the Powerpoint. This will prompt the user to select a PDF from a specific location on their PC or Laptop’s local hard drive and press the “Open” button to insert the page.

  • Step 5: Select the Pages or Slides to Insert into the Whiteboard

When the user has pressed the “Open” button, it will prompt said user to select which slide or page they would want to insert into the whiteboard. The user can select and insert the slides they want to insert by left-clicking said slides and pressing the “Insert pages” button.
