What Is a Club Flyer?

As we know, a flyer is a form of paper advertisement intended for wide distribution and typically posted or distributed in a public place, handed out to individuals or sent through the mail. A club flyer is a highly visual printed promotional material created specifically to highlight what kind of club you have. The flyer contains information about the events and schedule. A school club flyer should also mention the time and place for meetings.

How to Make an Eye-Catching Club Flyer

The best way to bring people into your club, whether it’s a school club or a nightclub, is by printing out flyers. This kind of marketing instrument is cost-effective, accessible, and easy to print. By following the steps below, you will be able to create an eye-catching club flyer.

1. Draft

The first thing you have to do is make a rough draft of what your flyer would look like on a piece of paper. You can also use a template for a reference. Either way, the focus of the rough draft is the flyer’s layout.

2. Function

When you’ve picked out what layout you want to work with, you can begin designing your flyer. If your club is like a chess club, then you can design the flyer to look like a chess board. Just make sure to follow these rules: make the information easy to read, keep the essential information and contact details accessible, and keep things realistic with a "what you see is what you get" attitude.

3. Minimize

Many advertisement media have been applying the minimalist approach so as to keep things subtle and calm. A good example would be walking or running club flyers. They usually just feature an image or illustration of an individual or a group walking on a path. Nightclubs tend to include more vector subjects for summer events.

4. Color

This is, in my opinion, the most powerful tool when it comes to making flyers. A lack of color would make your viewer lose interest. School clubs nowadays tend to use a vibrant color palette to lure people in. Nightclubs primarily use neon colors set to a dark background. The most common colors used are purple or blue. It gives them an idea of what ambience awaits in the club.

5. Images

This one should be easy. The image you’re going to put into your flyer should be relevant to what kind of club you have. School clubs can use stock images, but it would be much more advisable to use a picture you took. Nightclubs usually include a picture of the featured DJ. An element you can use in place of pictures are vector images, especially if your club is just starting out.

6. Call to Action

A call to action uses phrases such as “Come and join the fun!” or “Sign up now!” These phrases encourage our viewers to join your club as they catch the viewers' attention and spark their interests. Don’t forget to include one to engage your viewer.
