If you are a CEO or a business owner, or soon to be one, then you should start creating your own corporate business card today. In this short guide, we have provided you with five easy ways to do so.
1. Open a Program
Mind you, you don’t have to be an expert in graphic design for you to create your own business card. Aside from creative business card templates you can download on this site, there are also several programs that would allow you to create one. You can make use of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher, Apple Pages, and even Microsoft Word. If you have one of these programs installed on your computer, then you’re good to go. After launching a program, select a size for your card. The standard size for business cards is 3.5 inches by 2 inches, which sometimes include an extra 1/8 inch for bleed area.
2. Select Colors
Whatever style you want to achieve, may it be modern, contemporary, minimalist, classic, or elegant, it is important that you choose the right colors and fonts for your business card. If you want it clean and simple, you can opt for a white background paired with gold. If you want it sophisticated and classic, there’s no better color than black. Using complementary colors such as blue and orange or red and green will also make your business card look creative. Keep in mind that the final outcome should appear professional and stylish at the same time.
3. Type Details
Before you start typing the necessary details, make sure that you have already chosen the right fonts to be used. Bear in mind that legibility is the most important thing in selecting a font. Also, avoid using more than two fonts for your corporate business card to maintain its professional look. You can use different font sizes though to guide the reader from the most important information to the not so important ones. For the details, make sure you include your name, the company’s name, address, contact numbers, email, and website. You can also add the company’s tagline.
4. Attach Logo
It is recommended to include the logo of the company in your business card for the receiver to immediately recognize your company. If your card is oriented horizontally, it would be helpful to attach the logo on the left half since most people read from left to write. If it is vertical, then place it at the top of your card.
5. Save and Print
If you are contented with your design, review the details you input first then save your file. After which, find the best card stock for your corporate business card, print it out, and give them to prospective customers and business partners.
