A professional resume includes all the information that is needed by the employer to get to know an applicant. It is a summary of an individual's overall profile. Unlike a basic resume, a professional resume consists of the different academic or career accomplishments of the applicant. It shows their different expertise to see if they are qualified for the job.

How to Write a Professional Resume

A professional resume is crucial for job applications. It builds an impression and establishes favor from the executives. According to research, employers spend less than 7 seconds looking at the applicant's professional resume. It only takes less than 7 seconds to impress employers. That's how critical resumes are, even for entry-level jobs. Even if you are already an experienced job seeker or still a fresher in this business, you need to know how to write a persuasive business resume that will undoubtedly get you the spot.

1. Take Note

Although you already know yourself well enough, you still need to take notes of your own information, most especially those that should not be forgotten. This includes past seminars attended, previous job descriptions, and other deliverables. Even the smallest achievement matters depending on the chosen career. So always jot down necessary details beforehand.

2. Write Your Contact Information

Create a header that includes your name, address, and contact information. This includes your cell phone number, telephone number, and email address. It is one of the most essential parts of your one-page or two-page resume because it encompasses the details that could potentially lead you to the doors of your chosen company. It would be a shame to know that the employer considered you as a candidate; however, you were, unfortunately, unable to put your contact information for them to keep in touch.

3. Insert a Formal Picture of Yourself

One might think that a simple picture would not make any difference, but it actually does. Self-portraits show your whole profile and how you handle and present yourself to the people. This matters to the company, because, after all, you will be bearing the name of the company from the moment you get hired. 5. Write the Content

The next thing to do is to write the resume's content. It’s time to fill in the blanks and spaces! First, the objectives. Have a clear understanding of your career goal and let it reflect in the paper. For example, if you are applying for a research job, you should create content that fits a research resume. Next is write down your educational background with the years that you graduated. Sometimes the reputation of the school matters for the employers. Then, put your qualifications. It must answer the question, “What makes me more deserving of the job?” It is important to know your edge. Write something that, you think, separates you from the other applicants. Then, jot down your accomplishments. These accomplishments do not only mean your educational achievements, but these could also mean your completed seminar or workshop attendance. Lastly, write your job experiences, most especially those that are relevant to the job that you are pursuing. Those experiences strengthen your chance.

6. Proofread Your Professional Resume

Once finished, proofread everything from your name to your job experiences. Make sure that everything is accurate. Also, one very important note, make sure that every word you write in your professional resume is factual. Just because you want to impress does not mean that you have to lie.
