What Is a Voucher?

A voucher is a bond of the redeemable transaction type which is worth a certain monetary value and which may be spent only for specific reasons or on specific goods. Some examples can include housing, travel, and food vouchers. The term voucher is also a synonym for receipt and is often used to receipts used as evidence of the declaration that a service has been performed or that an expenditure has been made.

How to Make a Creative Voucher?

A voucher can be used as evidence that there has been a financial transaction between two sides. It may be used for a number of purposes, sometimes taking the role of cash in a transaction, acting as a receipt or stating that a payment has been approved. This is very helpful once the company begins to audit their accounts. They serve as a great marketing tool in promoting your company’s product and services to the public. So how do you make a voucher? Just follow the steps below.

1. Identify What Kind of Voucher You Want to Make

There are all kinds of vouchers that serve different functions. Some of these include cash payment vouchers, bank payment vouchers, cash receipt vouchers, purchase vouchers, sales vouchers, sales return vouchers, and purchase return vouchers. You can also make vouchers that act as coupons to provide promos and discounts. So the first question you’d have to ask is, what is your voucher made for? You need to make sure that your voucher aligns with the products or services your company provides.

2. Creating a Rough Draft of the Voucher

When you’ve identified what kind of voucher you want to work with, the next thing you can do is make a series of rough drafts of what you might want your voucher to look like. Even if you already have one design in mind, it wouldn’t hurt to have other options. At least you can choose the best design from having more to choose from.

3. Putting In Important Information

When you’re making a voucher, don’t forget to include important information such as the name of your company, contact details, and the company logo. Apart from contact information, attach the amount of the discount or rebate that your customers can avail. It can be a fixed amount or discount percentage and provide some space for your customers name and contact details. Also include limits to your voucher like how many times it can be used, its exclusivity, and its expiration date.

4. Executing the Design

Now that we have your chosen design and information, let’s begin the designing process. You can use programs such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator to help you create the layout. Make sure that you utilize the space that you have so that you won’t make it look too tacky. The color palette of your choice has to attract your customers attention, make it look stand out but not in an obnoxious way.

5. Printing and Distribution

Now that you have your voucher design ready, you can proceed to printing it out. Use the appropriate paper quality otherwise the customers won’t find it appealing at all. You can distribute vouchers in your workplace, on the streets, or even online.
