What Is a Website?
A website is a collection of related network web resources, such as web pages, multimedia content, which are typically identified with a common domain name, and published on at least one web server. They can be accessed via a public internet protocol (IP) network such as the internet, or a private local area network (LAN), by a uniform resource locator (URL) that identifies the site. Websites can have many functions and can be used in various fashions. They are typically dedicated to a particular topic or purpose, ranging from entertainment and social networking to providing news and education. All publicly accessible websites collectively constitute the world wide web, while private websites, such as a company website for its employees, are typically part of an intranet.
How to Make a Website Using Apple Pages?
Creating a website is no easy feat. The most common methods involve using MS Word to create HTMLs while others opt to create using blogs through websites like Tumblr or Wordpress. People who own Apple products, however, have the option to use Apple Pages. By following the steps below, we can find out how to create a website using Apple devices.
1. Identify What Kind of Website You Want to Make
Because a website has many functions, the first thing you have to do is decide what kind of website you will be creating. It can be a personal website like a blog, a corporate website for a company, a government website, or an organization website. The website will be entirely up to you.
2. Designing the Structure of the Website
Before you get to the creative part of making a website, you need to have an idea of what the website will look like. To do that, you have two options. The first would be to choose from the given templates that Pages already has. Your other option would be to design a layout with your own hands. Pages already has tools to help you do this but you can also use Adobe programs like Photoshop or Illustrator to make a reference.
3. Working On Your Details
When you have your template ready, we can begin filling in your website. After opening your Apple Page document, you can begin typing. There are icons in the toolbar that you can click to add objects like tables, charts, shapes, or media. If you’re creating your website on an iPad then you can also sketch some of your ideas. For this step, just be as creative as you can.
4. Creating Hyperlinks
Because Pages can automatically detect valid web addresses, we’re going to have to create a proper link for your website. By pressing command-k or holding on to a text, a pop-up menu opens up with three destinations for your link. Of course, we’d have to choose the webpage option.
5. Publishing the Website
Now that your site has been established, try to open it to see if the link is broken. Trace your steps if you can see that there’s even a slight error. If not, then we can introduce your site to the world.
