Key Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts. Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.

  • Client Billing: Oversee client billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the issuance of invoices and the reconciliation of client accounts.

  • Tax Compliance: Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements. Work with external auditors and tax advisors as necessary.

  • Payroll Processing: Manage payroll processing and ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company contributions.

  • Financial Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls.

  • Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

  • Reporting: Provide regular reports to management on the financial status of the firm, highlighting areas of concern and suggesting improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification is strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial principles specific to the legal industry.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Work Conditions:

  • Standard office hours, Monday to Friday, with additional hours as needed to meet business deadlines.
