Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Empathetic understanding, patience, and a resilient spirit form the basis for the required competencies.

  • A working knowledge of local resources, policy and practice, intervention strategies, and crisis management.

Responsibilities and Duties

As a Behavior Support Worker, you are expected to:

  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs.

  • Develop individual behavior support plans, and monitor their progress.

  • Provide guidance and intervention in moments of crisis, helping individuals manage behaviors effectively.

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary support team, sharing insights and planning strategically for improved outcomes for your clients.

Necessary Experience

  • Should have at least two years of professional experience in a behavior support role or similar settings involving the handling of challenging behaviors.

  • A background in mental health, social work, or related services is highly beneficial in this position.

Additional Requirements

All applicants must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel as the job may require visits to various locations. The role often deals with challenging cases, so individuals must be able to maintain composure during stressful situations. Flexibility in working hours may also be required.
