2. Description of Services

The Contractor agrees to provide the following carpentry services to the Client:

  • Installation of custom cabinetry in the kitchen and bathrooms, construction of built-in shelving units in the living room, repair of damaged wooden flooring, replacement of trim and molding throughout the house, and installation of a bespoke wooden deck in the backyard.

  • Additionally, the Contractor will ensure all materials used meet quality standards and adhere to local building codes. The services will be performed efficiently and with attention to detail to meet the Client's specifications and satisfaction

3. Terms and Schedule

The Contractor shall commence work on [Date] and is expected to complete the installation of custom cabinetry within two weeks. Following that, the construction of built-in shelving units will begin and is scheduled to be completed within three weeks. The repair of damaged wooden flooring is anticipated to take one week, while the replacement of trim and molding throughout the house will be completed concurrently.

The installation of the bespoke wooden deck in the backyard will commence upon completion of indoor carpentry work and is projected to take two weeks. However, the schedule is subject to adjustments based on unforeseen circumstances or changes requested by the Client

4. Payment Terms

Payments shall be made via bank transfer or certified check. The Client agrees to pay the Contractor the following fees for the services provided:

  • Total Contract Price: $10,000

  • Payment Schedule:

    -Deposit: $2,000 (due upon signing of the contract)

    -Progress Payment 1: $3,000 (due upon completion of custom cabinetry installation)

    -Progress Payment 2: $2,000 (due upon completion of built-in shelving units)

    -Progress Payment 3: $1,500 (due upon completion of wooden flooring repair and trim/molding replacement)

    -Final Payment: $1,500 (due upon completion of wooden deck installation)

Note:

Late payment penalties: A late fee of $50 or 5% of the outstanding balance will be applied for payments not received within 14 days of the due date.

5. Warranties

The Contractor warrants that all services provided under this Contract shall be performed in a professional and workmanlike manner, by industry standards.

6. Responsibilities of the Parties

a. Client Responsibilities:

  • Provide access to the project site as required.

  • Cooperate with the Contractor to facilitate the timely completion of the services.

  • Promptly notify the Contractor of any concerns or issues regarding the services.

b. Contractor Responsibilities:

  • Perform the services described herein with due care and diligence.

  • Use materials of good quality, suitable for the intended purpose.

  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and building codes.

7. Indemnification

Each party agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the other party from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of or in connection with the performance of this Contract, except to the extent caused by the other party's negligence or breach of this Contract.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate this Contract upon written notice to the other party in the event of a material breach of any provision herein if such breach is not cured within 30 days of receiving written notice thereof.

9. Governing Law

This Contract shall be governed by and construed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of law principles.

10. Entire Agreement

This Contract constitutes the entire agreement between the parties concerning the subject matter herein and supersedes all prior and contemporaneous agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.
