A human-resources department (HR department) of an organization performs human resource management. Human resource managers are in control of every aspect of an organization's employee life cycle. The HR is in charge of preparing or updating employment records for recruiting, transferring, promoting, and dismissing employees. Planning, recruiting, and selection procedures, posting job ads, reviewing candidate results, arranging resumes and job applications, scheduling interviews and assisting in the process, and ensuring background checks are just a few of the tasks. Payroll and benefits administration is another role that involves monitoring vacation and sick days, reviewing payroll, and engaging in benefits activities such as claim settlement, reconciling benefits statements, and approving invoices for payment. Employee relations events and services, such as employee counseling, are also coordinated by HR. The final task is routine maintenance, which includes keeping current HR reports and databases up to date, managing employee benefits and employment status, and performing payroll and benefit-related reconciliations.
