Prepare your chart’s layout by making adjustments to the document page beforehand. Go ahead and begin by opening a new file in Apple Pages.
In the side toolbar (to the right), open the Document menu before unchecking the Document Body checkbox. Once that’s done, using inserted objects on your page becomes much easier!
The first part of your Retail Organizational Chart is its title. When coming up with what to write, it’s important that it identifies the diagram’s exact contents.
Give your chart a title by using the Text option in the upper toolbar. Next, place the fresh text box at the top of your document’s page. In the text box, create a title that’s similar to “Digital Tech Support Staff” or “Fashion Merchandising Administration Department.” Click-drag the handles on the text box’s sides for resizing.
Simple shapes are typical in an organizational chart. These shapes are what contain the workers’ names and job positions in the hierarchy.
When creating your shapes, use the Shapes menu found in the upper toolbar. From that menu, use a combination of ovals and rectangles for better organizing. For the first shape, start with the employee holding the highest position (e.g., customer service manager, department supervisor) within the structure. Insert more shapes as you add everyone else in the chart, proceeding lower and lower in the hierarchical chain.
Don’t forget about adding lines while building the organizational chart. These lines link related shapes to each other and direct the structure’s flow.
Highlight two adjacent shapes at once by using CMD+click, then go to Insert (at the very top of Pages) and pick one of the Connection Lines from the Line menu. After doing so, the selected shapes are now linked by a special Connection Line, which reorients itself whenever either shape is moved.
