Dear Emily Davis,

I hope this note finds you well. I am writing to you today on behalf of our family. It is with varying levels of concern and responsibility that I must guide this conversation towards a subject of personal urgency that has, recently, been impinging upon our usual routine.

It pertains to the health of our child. It’s unfortunately the case that these past few days our child has been unwell, leaving us with little choice but to prioritize their wellbeing and seek immediate medical attention. We had a doctor's appointment scheduled, which inevitably conflicted with our customary commitments.

Recognizing your professional commitments and the value of your time, it is with humility that we seek your understanding. In this context, we would be greatly obliged to have your consideration in regards to our child's absence during this period.
