Accountant Requirements
Introduction
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team at [Your Company Name]. Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Management:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Process and record financial transactions including invoices, expenses, and payments.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Compliance and Audits:
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Conduct internal audits and coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
Prepare and file tax returns and ensure adherence to tax regulations.
Accounts Management:
Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Monitor and resolve discrepancies in financial accounts and transactions.
Process payroll, including calculating wages, benefits, and deductions.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
Provide financial analysis and support for budgeting decisions and strategic planning.
Track expenses and financial performance against budgetary targets.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in financial operations.
Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures to safeguard assets.
Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and best practices.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred.
Experience: Years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the financial services sector.
Knowledge: Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with industry-specific accounting practices, such as regulatory compliance for financial services.
Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (e.g., MBA, MS in Accounting).
Additional certifications or training related to financial analysis, auditing, or compliance.
Work Environment
The position is based in our New York, NY office, with potential options for remote work or flexible scheduling based on performance and company policy.
Standard office environment with occasional requirements for overtime during peak periods.
