Meadowbrook Academy, a thriving educational institution, is currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Instructional Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide crucial classroom support, helping our educators deliver quality lessons and ensure a positive learning environment for our students. Responsibilities and Duties:

As an Instructional Assistant, you will:

• Assist teachers in preparing and implementing lesson plans

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students needing additional academic assistance

• Help manage classroom behaviour to ensure a supportive, inclusive learning environment

• Supervise students during activities, recess, and other non-instructional periods for their safety and well-being

• Assist with student assessments, tests, assignments, and provide feedback to teachers

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

The ideal candidate will have:

• An associate degree in education or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred)

• Prior experience in a classroom setting

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for diverse student populations

• Ability to effectively manage and supervise students

• Patience and resilience in dealing with challenging situations

Additional Requirements:

• Must pass a criminal background check

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
