Job Title: Inventory Accountant
Job Description:
ToyTreasures, a dynamic and thriving business, is seeking a dedicated Inventory Accountant to join our accomplished team. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing inventory transactions, carrying out regular physical inventory counts, reconciling variances, and preparing financial reports. Your expertise in Inventory Accounting will contribute significantly to our operations, ensuring that our inventory valuation adheres to accounting standards and our financial reports are timely and accurate.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Monitor and record inventory transactions, including purchases, transfers, and disposals.
Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile any discrepancies.
Assure proper valuation of inventory in accordance with accounting standards, such as FIFO and LIFO.
Analyze and report on inventory aging and obsolescence.
Prepare routine and specialized reports including monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory reports.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
Work in partnership with the accounting team to guarantee accurate calculations in Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
Qualifications and Skills:
The ideal candidate must possess:
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven experience in inventory accounting or a related area.
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with other departments.
A detail-oriented approach with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
