Job Description:

Guardian Lockup Solutions is on the hunt for a steadfast and vigilant Detention Officer. This pivotal role calls for effective supervision of inmates within our detention facility, focusing on their safety and security. Their role will span monitoring and conducting routine counts, responding to emergencies promptly, and ensuring well-being of inmates by providing necessary basic healthcare services and other essentials.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Monitor and supervise inmates within the detention facility, prioritizing their safety and security.
Perform regular inmate counts and cell inspections to prevent contraband, rule violations, and escapes.
Supply basic healthcare to inmates, cater to medical emergencies and administer necessary medications.
Ensure provision of meals, hygiene supplies and access to necessary facilities for inmates.
Operate security equipment such as surveillance cameras, metal detectors and alarms.
Conduct thorough searches of inmates, cells, and common areas to detect and confiscate prohibited items.
Respond to emergencies promptly and efficiently.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

The optimal candidate must possess high school diploma or GED equivalent. They must have strong interpersonal skills, be highly observant and detail oriented. They will have excellent decision-making abilities, and solid knowledge of security systems and protocols. Previous experience in a similar role will be advantageous. Appropriate training and certification pertaining to Detention Officer duties and responsibilities will be highly regarded.
