Job Title: Credit Officer
We are currently seeking a dedicated Credit Officer to evaluate and establish creditworthiness for potential loans or credit applicants. Your objective will be to mitigate financial risks and select reliable borrowers, hence, having keen attention to detail and proficiency in mathematical calculations will be paramount for this role.
Responsibilities and Duties
In this role, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Assessing credit applications and evaluating creditworthiness
Conducting background checks and reading financial briefings
Constantly keeping informed of changes in regulations pertaining to lending and credits
Understanding the financial needs of the debtor, advising on the most suitable loan options, and creating loan proposals
Monitoring credit portfolio and making amendments wherever necessary
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies
To be considered for the role, the following are required:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a similar field
Previous experience as a Credit Officer or in a similar role is desirable
Excellent understanding of lending procedures and customer service experience
Sound judgment and ability to make prudent decisions
Proficiency in relevant computer software, including MS Office, is essential
Additional Requirements
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, along with a goal-oriented attitude are additional requirements. The ideal candidate should be able to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
