Job Description:

The Finance Committee Member will be integral to the financial management team of UrbanScape Developers. This role includes key responsibilities such as the review and analysis of financial statements and budgets, oversight of the organization's budgeting processes, management of financial risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in the finance industry. Your expertise will directly influence and shape the company’s financial stability and strategic decision making.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting financial statements, budgets, and reports for the purpose of assessing the organization's financial performance.
Providing financial analysis and insights to assist in decision-making.
Presenting financial updates and recommendations to the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors.
Contributing to the development and monitoring of the annual budget ensuring it aligns with the organization's strategic goals.
Identifying potential areas for cost savings and revenue generation.
Assessing financial risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
Reviewing and recommending changes to financial policies and procedures to enhance risk management.
Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, laws and industry standards, and monitoring adherence to internal financial policies.

Qualifications and Skills:

Ideal candidates should possess a minimum of bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field. An advanced degree or CPA certification is highly regarded. Proven experience in a similar role within the finance industry, exceptionally strong analytical skills, impeccable attention to detail, and a strategic mindset are all essential. Familiarity with industry regulations and financial reporting standards is a must.

Additional Requirements:

The successful candidate must have excellent time management skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Should be able to maintain strict levels of confidentiality, whilst also possessing strong communication skills to effectively present findings and insights to management and the board of directors.
