Job Description:
HomeCare Hospice Services is searching for a diligent and professional Medical Clerk to assist with patient registration responsibilities at our Longview, TX location. The successful candidate will excel in an environment where comfort, compassion, and patient wellbeing are prioritized. The primary duties include greeting patients, verifying and inputting patient data, handling appointment scheduling, and managing medical billing and insurance claims.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Greet and assist patients courteously and professionally
• Collect, verify, and input patient information, including personal details, insurance details, and medical history into the electronic health records (EHR) system
• Ensure all necessary consent forms are signed and correctly filed
• Schedule, confirm, and maintain patient appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits
• Verify insurance coverage and process insurance claims
• Prepare and mail patient invoices
• Help patients with billing inquiries and provide payment arrangement assistance
Qualifications and Skills:
• Proven experience as a Medical Clerk
• Proficient understanding of medical terminologies, administrative procedures, billing, and insurance claims
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency in using EHR systems and other medical software.
