Responsibilities and Duties:
The Education Welfare Officer will monitor and scrutinize school attendance records, identifying worrying patterns of non-attendance or chronic lateness. The individual will collaborate with schools, devising strategies to enhance attendance rates. The position requires undertaking home visits to affirmatively engage parents or guardians of students facing attendance dilemmas, assessing root causes to formulate suitable solutions.
The role involves creating tailored attendance enhancement plans for students grappling with persistent attendance challenges. Facilitating coordination between schools, educators, and support services for effective implementation of intervention strategies will be pivotal. Furthermore, the individual will advocate for students' rights and needs, especially those at risk of becoming NEET.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:
This key position demands a proven track record in educational welfare, excellent communication, and relationship-building skills. Applicants should have knowledge of devising and implementing intervention strategies, with a particular focus on attendance improvements. A deep understanding of issues affecting attendance is required, together with aptitude for identifying underlying causes and formulating resilient solutions. Analytical and problem-solving abilities, adaptability, empathy, and resilience are all vital traits.
Experience:
Previous experience working in a similar educational welfare role is strongly preferred. Familiarity working with students at risk of becoming NEET and collaborating with a range of stakeholders, including schools and parents, is highly favorable.
