Job Title: Payroll Clerk
Lighthouse Hospitality Group seeks a reliable Payroll Clerk to keep our workforce functioning in a financially efficient and compliant manner. The successful candidate will process and manage our company payroll, ensuring all staff receive their correct earnings promptly and that all necessary deductions and payments are handled accurately.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Payroll Processing – taking charge of calculating and processing employee salaries, wages, overtime and bonuses. The Payroll Clerk will also need to verify and input timecards or attendance records, and ensure accurate deductions, including taxes, benefits, and other withholdings. Additional responsibilities include processing special payments, such as commissions and reimbursements.
Data Entry and Verification – The role demands a meticulous touch to maintain and update employee records, including personal information, tax details, and bank accounts. You’ll also verify the accuracy of payroll data to minimize errors and resolve discrepancies or issues related to time and attendance records.
Compliance and Reporting - Staying up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws is crucial. Duties will include preparing and submitting payroll tax reports and payments to relevant authorities. Assisting with annual audits and providing necessary documentation are also part of this job.
Qualifications and Skills:
Candidates should possess rudimentary comprehension of payroll practices and principles, data entry skills, and a keen eye for detail and numbers. A solid understanding of tax laws, deductions, and bonuses, and proven experience using payroll software are also required.
Additional Requirements:
Experience within the hospitality industry will be advantageous, though not necessary. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and payroll software is obligatory.
