Conservation Director Job Description

Job Title: Conservation Director

We seek a forward-thinking, proactive Conservation Director to join our team. Our next Conservation Director will take charge of developing and executing conservation strategies, as well as advancing the mission of our organization.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive, strategic conservation plan.
- Direct the planning, development, and implementation of all conservation programs.
- Identify the risks to existing conservation areas and devise strategies to manage them.
- Establish and maintain relationships with government agencies, non-profit entities, and other organizations.
- Manage a team of conservation professionals and volunteers.
- Oversee the budget and resource allocation for the conservation program.

Qualifications and Skills:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a conservation organization.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
- Strong understanding of environmental laws and regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Superior communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Strong passion for the environment.

Additional Requirements:

- Willingness to travel frequently.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, terrains, and ecosystems.
- Familiarity with grant writing and fundraising.
- Proficiency in using satellite imaging and data analysis software.
