Job Overview

As the Executive Director of Interior Design, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and guiding the overall performance of our interior design division. You will lead a team of talented designers, architects, and professionals to deliver world-class design projects across a variety of sectors, including residential, commercial, hospitality, and retail. Your leadership, creativity, and business acumen will be instrumental in shaping our design vision, driving growth, and ensuring the continued success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership and Strategy

  • Develop and communicate a compelling vision and strategic roadmap for our interior design division, aligning with the broader goals and objectives of our organization.

  • Lead the development of innovative design concepts and solutions that push the boundaries of creativity and meet the needs of our clients and end-users.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and design innovations to inform our design strategy and maintain our competitive edge in the market.

Team Leadership and Talent Development

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of interior designers, architects, and design professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence.

  • Provide guidance and support to empower team members to achieve their full potential, and cultivate a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

  • Recruit and retain top talent, and build a high-performing team that is capable of delivering exceptional design projects and exceeding client expectations.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients and stakeholders, and build and maintain strong relationships to drive client satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Collaborate closely with our business development and sales teams to identify new business opportunities, develop proposals, and secure new design projects.

  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with clients throughout the design process, and proactively address any concerns or challenges to ensure project success.

Financial Management and Business Development

  • Develop and manage the annual budget for our interior design division, and monitor financial performance to ensure alignment with our strategic goals and objectives.

  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth and profitability enhancement, and develop and implement strategies to expand our client base and market presence.

  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments, and leverage this knowledge to identify new business opportunities and drive business growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in the interior design industry, with a proven track record of success in leading design teams and delivering outstanding design projects.

  • Strong design portfolio demonstrating creativity, innovation, and excellence in design execution across diverse sectors and project types.

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, build strong client relationships, and drive business results.

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, analyze market trends, and develop and implement effective business strategies.

  • Strong financial acumen and business development skills, with experience in budget management, revenue generation, and client acquisition.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts to diverse audiences.
