Role Overview
The Home Health Aide (HHA) will provide personalized healthcare services to patients in their homes, ensuring comfort, stability, and independence while assisting with daily living activities. Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assisting with daily personal activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Monitoring and recording patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, and respiration readings.
Administering prescribed medications under the direction of a nurse or physician.
Providing mobility assistance, including helping patients in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, or transportation vehicles.
Preparing meals to ensure patients are eating a balanced diet, and assisting with feeding when necessary.
Light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping.
Offering companionship and emotional support.
Educating patients and families on proper home healthcare practices.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, the candidate should have the following qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification is required.
CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred.
Previous experience in a home healthcare setting is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to adhere to health and safety guidelines and procedures.
Capacity to work independently and manage time effectively.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Work Environment
The Home Health Aide will work in patients' homes and may be required to travel locally. This role involves potentially long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on patient needs. Physical demands include frequent standing, bending, lifting, and moving patients.
