Free Home Office Cleaning Checklist

Dust all surfaces (desks, shelves, filing cabinets, etc.)

Wipe down light switches, electrical outlets, and door handles.

Clean windows (inside) and window sills

Clean and sanitize mirrors and glass surfaces

Sweep or vacuum the floor.

Mop the floor with an appropriate cleaner.

Empty trash bins and replace liners

Disinfect high-touch areas (doorknobs, handles, remote controls)

Wipe down desk and work surfaces with a suitable cleaner.

Organize desk supplies (pens, papers, office tools, etc.)

Clean and organize cables and cords

Sanitize keyboard, mouse, and other frequently used devices

Wipe down the computer screen and monitor

Clean and organize files (either physical or digital)

Clean and disinfect printer and office equipment

Dust and clean all furniture (chairs, bookshelves, filing cabinets)

Wipe down all desk chairs, including armrests and wheels.

Sanitize any frequently touched furniture (e.g., filing cabinet handles)

Clean and organize any bookshelves

Tidy up any cabinets or storage spaces.

Wipe down cabinet fronts and shelves.

Check and dispose of any old or unneeded paperwork or supplies.

Vacuum or sweep the floor thoroughly

Spot-clean any stains or spills on carpets or rugs.

Mop hard floors with an appropriate cleaner.

Empty trash bin and recycling bin

Disinfect trash and recycling bins.

Replace trash liners

Clean light fixtures and ceiling fans

Sanitize phones and other communication devices.

Organize office drawers or other cluttered spaces.

Check and replace any air fresheners or diffusers.
