Free Cleaning Checklist for Professional Housekeepers

Dust all surfaces, including furniture, shelves, and décor

Wipe down light switches, outlets, and door handles.

Clean windows (inside) and window sills

Vacuum or sweep floors

Mop hard floors with an appropriate cleaner.

Remove cobwebs from corners and ceilings.

Empty trash bins and replace liners

Sanitize high-touch areas (e.g., remotes, handles, railings)

Dust furniture, electronic devices, and decorations

Clean and sanitize remote controls and electronics

Wipe down tables, shelves, and other flat surfaces.

Vacuum upholstered furniture and spot clean stains

Arrange pillows, blankets, and decorative items neatly.

Clean under and behind furniture (if accessible)

Clear and wipe down countertops and backsplashes

Clean and sanitize sinks and faucets

Wipe down the exterior of appliances (fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher)

Clean the stovetop and remove grease or residue.

Empty and sanitize trash and recycling bins

Sweep and mop the floor.

Organize and wipe down cabinet exteriors.

Check and clean microwave and refrigerator interiors (if included in service)

Clean and sanitize sinks, faucets, and countertops

Scrub and disinfect the toilet, including the base and lid

Clean mirrors and any glass surfaces

Scrub and clean the bathtub or shower (tiles, walls, and grout)

Wipe down cabinet exteriors.

Replace towels, soap, and toiletries as needed.

Sweep and mop bathroom floors.

Dust furniture, nightstands, and shelves

Wipe down mirrors and glass surfaces.

Vacuum carpets or sweep and mop hard floors

Make beds and change linens (if requested)

Deep clean inside of ovens and refrigerators

Clean windows (inside and outside, if accessible)

Wash walls and remove marks.

Deep clean carpets (steam clean, spot removal)

Organize and declutter closets, drawers, or pantries.

Dust and clean ceiling fans and light fixtures

Clean air vents and replace filters

Perform a final walk-through to ensure all areas are clean.

Restock cleaning supplies and check inventory

Leave a card or note confirming service completion.
