Every school requires a plan which has certain goals, objectives, and some mechanisms to achieve some objectives that are decided by the school at some point. This plan is known as a school development plan or SDP. It can be considered to be an in-house activity that is generally carried by in-school teaching and non-teaching staff. It also involves the opinions and insights of the community or parents and other stakeholders. This is the starting point for any development effort and acts as the base against which a school’s development efforts are evaluated. Know what is the current situation of the school, for instance, start gathering information about the current student outcomes and existing practices must be collected systematically.
Your school development plan must state what development in the outcomes a school wishes to see. Mention the desired developments that may include development in student achievement, school attendance, and student attitudes and engagement. The plan helps in recognizing the need to prioritize, provide the time that will be required for sustainable development, and also sets realistic expectations.

A school development plan can be termed as a means, not an end but a means of enhancing the quality of the educational experience of the students in the school. And this is done through the successful management of the transformation and changes. The process of this plan is minutely focused on the education requirements and achievements of the students and also on the professional development and empowerment of the teachers.
