One undeniable part of every aggressively growing business is the proposal process. You might have used a business proposal to push a new project or venture to decision makers, investors, clients, and potential partners. There is another kind of proposal to initiate partnerships: the request for proposal (RFP). An RFP document is what you issue to potential clients (suppliers) who will then bid over each other in order to complete the proposed project. If your partnership is a profitable one, the RFP is a good way to solicit the best options.

Issuing a request for proposal to several potential suppliers for bids is not something you do on a whim, of course. You have to first make sure that your project is feasible and supply the right information in order to attract the right kind of attention to your request:
This proposal is submitted to potential bidders very early on in the procurement process, which is the stage you are gathering material, contacts, utilities, and funding crucial to getting the project completed.
The bidders have to immediately see, through your proposal, where their services are needed. You have to demonstrate the profitability of the project in order to encourage their best effort to place a bid.
When done well, you should have an integrated solution provided by multiple suppliers responding to the request. This is especially useful when you are requesting specialized services and don’t want to settle for an independent contractor.
All these documents are offered as free downloads that you can use however you need to—as references, guidelines, or direct templates you can modify and use.
While the PDF samples might give you the spark you need to get started drafting your proposal, look out for the .doc/.docx downloads, which will make things even easier. All you have to do is download the one that is closest to serving your needs and edit in your details.
Remember that when requesting bids for funding, you are also going to need a good Budget Proposal Template to forecast the expenses and costs in order to undertake the project within the time frame.
