Activity Title: "Creative Expression Workshop"

Date & Time: March 12, 2050 10:00AM-5:00 PM

Location: Jacksonville, FL 32099

Age Group: 12-18 years

Objective:

The aim is to actively engage young people in activities that encourage creative expression through various arts and crafts. This approach focuses on fostering skills such as teamwork, communication, and self-expression within a supportive and enjoyable environment.

Materials Needed:

1. Markers, colored pencils, paints

2. Canvas or large paper sheets

3. Craft supplies (glue, scissors, fabric, glitter, etc.)

4. Music (optional for atmosphere)

5. Projector (for visual inspiration)

Agenda:

1. Welcome and Ice Breaker (15 minutes)

• Greet participants and introduce the activity plan.

• Icebreaker Game: "Two Truths and a Lie" – each participant says two true things and one false statement about themselves, and others guess the lie.

2. Introduction to Creative Expression (10 minutes)

• Brief explanation about the importance of creative expression in mental and emotional well-being.

• Discuss how different forms of art can help express feelings and ideas.

3. Group Activity: Art Project (45 minutes)

• Participants will be divided into small groups and tasked with creating a collaborative mural or canvas painting.

• Each group will be given specific themes to explore in their artwork.

• Encourage everyone to contribute ideas and designs for their group’s artwork.

4. Reflection Time (15 minutes)

• After the art projects, each group will present their work and explain what it represents.

• Discuss how art helped in expressing their thoughts or emotions during the activity.

• Open the floor for any reflections or thoughts on the creative process.

5. Snack Break & Social Time (20 minutes)

• Light snacks and drinks will be served.

• Encourage mingling and informal conversations to build relationships and teamwork.

6. Closing and Group Photo (10 minutes)

• Gather everyone for a group photo with their artwork.

• Provide words of encouragement and thank everyone for their participation.

• Announce any upcoming activities or events.

Evaluation & Feedback:

• Ask the youth group members to share their thoughts on the activity.

• Collect feedback on what they enjoyed most and any ideas for improvement.

• Discuss potential future activities they would like to try.

Notes:

• Ensure that all supplies are ready before the activity begins.

• Ensure ample space for participants to move and collaborate on their artwork.

• Keep the atmosphere relaxed, fun, and non-judgmental to encourage creativity.
