Albert Einstein once said that “the only source of knowledge is experience” and to an extent, that is true. Each new experience we gain has some knowledge about it no matter how simple or complicated it is. Life throws us so much experiences whether we want it or not and whether we are ready or not. But most of our experiences were uprooted by our personal bias to actually try something new.

That bias can come with an eagerness to discover or learn something new. As you go on through life, you might conclude that those experiences are just gonna be part of your memories but think again. Those teachers and leaders who taught you, who have seen you do the best you can and see you fail and succeed at the same time can help you in getting a job through an experience letter.

In this article, we will be defining what experience is and how it is so valuable in getting you the highest probability to get a job in the future. You can also be the one making this sample experience letter aside from your teachers or mentors because you can also be a mentor or teacher to someone.

We will also be tackling the importance of an experience letter and what are its following parts. There will also be sample templates posted in this article to guide you further if ever you are planning to make your very own experience letter format and some drafts too. Finally, we will be explaining how one can gain such experiences.

The Experience Letter and its Parts

After we graduate from college, we are obligated to work for many reasons. One being as a way for you to support your family back home and another one would be to support one’s self for his own personal needs and wants one being to travel. In a sense, we assume responsibility more when we go to the adult or specifically, the work life. One way for you to get the job you want is when the interviewer’s check what you have gone through in your life based on the experience section of your simple resume.

With the fact that your experience you have placed in your resume will be checked by the interviewer, they will tend to ask you if you or request a referee from your experience to send their testimonies through an experience letter to check your validity and the credibility of what you have written there in your resume. Aside from certificates, the referee’s can boost your credibility as he or she has seen you in that particular experience. That is basically the experience letter. A academic letter giving you more credibility of your skills and experiences.

It is also okay if you make your own experience letter layout as long as every content is true just make sure to provide experience certificates to give it more credibility. You would not want to be proved that you were actually lying and making things especially if the interviewer is keen on her research and background skills for potential clients.

If you have read and understood the meaning and purpose of an experience letter, you are now ready to know the parts of it. Take note that the experience letter and a business letter have the same parts since the experience letter is a branch of a business letter.

1. Date

This is the first thing you should always write in your creative letter. If you are the one requesting for your mentor to write an experience letter, remind him to write the date of the day you are planning to give the letter to the interviewer. Make sure the date is correct also.

2. Inside Address

This is the art of the formal letter where you would write the full name of the receiver. It is absolutely important to place the receiver’s title in the office or at the workplace. Identify if this kind of person is the supervisor, HR manager, boss, CEO, manager and etc. After writing his name and his title, write the address of his office. It is best to include his or her department’s name and what floor they are occupying in the building. Just make sure that the spelling is correct and of course, the address. This is for you to avoid confusions or issues that might be questioned in the professional letter.

3. Greeting

Before you ever want to talk to someone, you have to first greet him with a simple “Hi” or “Hello”. That action should also be applied in the workplace when you are making the letter. Just do it in a formal way. The greeting can be a one to two word-phrased and below are some of the commonly used greetings. You can also search in the internet for other greeting template examples if you do not find our examples good for your own design letter.

Here are some examples of a greeting:

“Greetings Mr…”

“Greetings Mrs…”

“Good Day!”

“Good Morning!”

“Dear Mr…”

“Dear Mrs…”

“Good day Mr…”

4. Body

In this part of the letter, you will begin to write the content and the purpose. The purpose should be stated in the first paragraph preferably in the first few sentences. You might ask why the sudden statement. This is because, in the workplace, everything needs to be straight to the point. There is no time for Dili dallies and one should always be straight to the point and deliver it in a simple way. You may also see proposal letter templates.

The person who is assigned to accept or reject requests does not have the time the whole day to read a long and complex letter outline but the purpose was just plain and simple. This can be so irritating. If your request is simple, make your letters short and straight to the point. This is not like a love letter where you get to shower it with flowery words. Let her save some time to actually continue to do his or her much heavier responsibilities by shortening your letter and making it clear and understandable as any letter can be.

“Dear [Boss’/Supervisor’s Name],

This is to certify that Angela Carmine has served as a full-time employee at our company, Winning Academy, and was a Learning and Development Trainer for 5 years since 2017 up until 2022. I am writing this letter to tell you that Angela is an experienced person in her field and her recognition and awards from our company, and a testimony from me can show that.

She was responsible for training the new recruits and the experienced once. She did her best to study training and development even if this type of job title was never being discussed in her course for this was not needed. She was a Masscom graduate taking on a job that was intended for Psychology graduates. Other than the training, she also keeps all the company accounts and records without being told so. She learned those things by herself. She has a strong command over her trainers and was the most liked trainer by our new recruits because of her fun personality

Ever since she stay here, we had fewer employee turnovers and resignation because of testimonies from employees that said she was fun to be with and knew how to listen even to personal problems. I can say that Angela is a thorough worker, and values work above anything else while keeping things fun and light in the office. Apart from her work skills, she is an excellent person with good communication and time management skills. She was a productive employee the organization valued, and the organization wishes her all the luck and success for the future. ”

Here is another Letter Example:

“To whom it may concern:

I hereby verify that Michael Onel has been working in our company since February 2000 until January of 2008. While employed with Future Academy Incorporated, his responsibilities have included interacting with our clients and providing them with information about our world class services.

He has done a fantastic job completing these tasks, and he has always been on time and professional during his tenure here. Has this initiative to do tasks even if it was not his own task. He left us on the 27 of January, 2008 to pursue further education, and is now back looking for a job. We would rehire him, but he is looking for something different than what we can offer. We wish his every success in life.”

Another one:

“To Whom it May Concern

This is to certify that Mr. ____________________ S/O Mr. ____________________ DOB ____________ had been working with us in our organization from ____________ to ____________, during his stay with us we found him intellectual, hard worker, innovator and keen in his work. We are feeling proud to say that he was one of the best employees. He always works for the best of our organization, and he has the ability to work as a team leader. “

If you can observe in the sample letter template, we stated the purpose at the beginning of the first paragraph in its first few sentences. We just then added a few details to give the reason some support and this important in an experience letter since it involves strengthening one’s own credibility.

5. Complimentary Close

In this part, you should write a one to two words phrased to officially say goodbye and end the letter. Below are some of the most common complementary close that the employees around the world use to send to their boss or supervisor if ever they have a formal request they would like to say:

“Yours truly,”

“Cordially,”

“From,”

“Sincerely yours,”

“Best wishes,”

“Regards,”

“Best Regards,”

6. Signature

This final part is where you would assume responsibility. You do this by affixing your creative signature on your name and you will be held responsible for the content that has been written in the letter. If there are any legal concerns concerning your simple letter, you have to be the one to answer those questions.

If you have seen or know how to write a sample business letter, then writing this experience letter would be easy as a piece of cake. Just remember to always make it straight to the point in every letter you make. Do not give a bad impression to your bosses especially if it is simple as just making simple letters in the office. Importance of Experience in the Work-Life

The eagerness to take on new experiences can give a certain rush to our body and even higher if we get to achieve it and pass through it. Life offers us with different experiences may it be happy or sad and sometimes those experiences are something that we can control or not. One would appreciate these experiences if one would be aware of their importance and how valuable they can in the near future especially at work. You may also see promotion letter fundamentals.

Luckily for you, you would know them by continuing to read this article. We encourage you to take down notes as many as you can because we will be showing you the importance and value of experience. You may also see job application letter examples.

You would definitely see its good use after you read about them here:

1. You have a higher paying job

If you have been through a lot of experiences that can actually be beneficial for a company, then you are more likely to earn a much higher salary. An experience can get you a long way that is why some companies hire consultants to guide them and they earn big. Years of training and study can make you soar not only in knowledge but also your earnings or income. Always remember though that knowledge is more important than gaining money and that having a humble heart is also important. You may also see personal letter templates.

2. You gain respect from others

If you are the kind of person who has been through a lot of experiences that are beneficial for work. People who do not know you personally can give respect when they would know what you have gone through and done for the past years that are good or best for the society. Experience garners knowledge which will bring students. If there is a teacher, the students will always respect it, especially if the teacher is approachable. But regardless if he is approachable or not, he will still earn respects because of his experiences.

3. Your work will be easier than you thought

Gaining earlier experiences that are similar to the job position you are at can be an advantage. In a way, you would have an edge against the other employees because of your experience. You would likely be able to work fast and still have the quality in them because your body already went through that kind of experience numerous times in your life. You may also see Salary Letter examples.

You can have more free time, if you choose to, and do the other things that you need to do or try to learn some new things at work that you are not familiar with or has never come across on. This will relieve you from getting bored with work because of the familiarity of it all. Do not be afraid to be a student again because the world is blessed with unlimited knowledge that we can learn until our very last breathe. You may also see resume cover letters.

4. Teach others

One of the most fulfilling things in life to see is to see someone grow and knowing that you imparted some of your experiences and knowledge to him. If you have gained enough experience in any field, people with similar fields would approach you and would want to be taught and at times, question you professionally if ever there is a need. In a sense, you are to them a teacher and someone they can really look up to. You may also see Manager Job Application Letters.

Do not be surprised if you get dozens of emails or texts to have a one on one session with a person interested at your work and what you have gone through to get to where you are now in life. It might at times get annoying and be tiring to teach people what you know and explaining it again to another batch the same things over and over again, but always remember that you are actually helping someone shape their life and their perspective about the world through your stories. You will become someone influential. Just make sure you would be the good one.

Doing this will make you someone to remember and that what you have shared, they can also share it to others too and that is very important because you were not only able to impart knowledge, but you were able to convince them to also share it with others and not be selfish about it. That in itself is an experience you would never forget, even if you would begin to be in your prime and grow white hair. Be happy about it because, in some part one’s life in this minute span of infinite time, you touched his heart one way or another.

Ways on how you can gain experience for work (and for life)

In this last part of the article, we will be giving you some ways or tips on how you can garner experience and hopefully, share it to others as well and have the eagerness to also go through what you went through to get to where you are. This will also be useful for you to have something show on your resume in the Experience category. One has to be ready and eager to consistently do these things in order to actually have enough experience they would take in their knowledge. You may also see certificate letter templates.

Here is the way on how one can gain experience for work and for his life in the long run:

1. Internships

Once you are in a course that you truly like, you are eventually going to go through its internship. An internship is a program in every course where the student has to go through and complete in order to graduate. The other purpose of the internship is for students to get a glimpse of what it would be like to work in their particular field soon after they are going to graduate. Once someone is already in this stage, he or she has to make everything count and take note everything his or her supervisor would advise or talk about in their particular field so that he or she can use it throughout his life.

2. Workshops

Another way for you to gather experience is through attending workshops and seminars. Listening talks to people who are big names in the industry or in the particular field can give you so much knowledge and information and experience all at the same time. Make sure you have full focus on the seminar and workshop to get a real feel of it all and once you go out from the premises, you can try to apply what they had imparted on you and reflect about it as you walk your way home.

3. Be in organizations

Being in organizations and being a consistent member can give you the knowledge that may not only be used for work but also for your life as you journey through it. You get to meet people who would mentor you all throughout the organization and ask them always questions and never stop being curious and wanting to know things in life that got you questioning. Participate in the organization so that your knowledge would expand and expand in the years to come. You may also see offer letter templates.

These are the general ways you can gain experience for the betterment of your future work and life. It is always handy to bring a notebook when you know you are about to take in knowledge of an experience in a matter of time. List down the important notes and read it over and over again do not stop even if you are already at work. This will serve as a reminder of how much you have gone through just to get to this position. Remember also to have a good relationship with your mentors and teachers so that you would not have a hard time asking to make an experience letter for you in your next application for a job soon.
