What to Put on Your Bylaws
Imagine that your club is a country and its bylaws, the constitution. What is written here should define the identity of the club. The way the club handles memberships, meetings, schedules, elections and other issues should be included. The club bylaw would ideally be present in any club functions and could be referred to should issues arise. Below are some of the more important articles that should be found in any club bylaws. - Organization Name Article – Write the name of your club here. This will establish the identity of your club. If your club has an official address like a clubhouse, regular meeting place or headquarters write it here. Otherwise, it is not required.
- Organization Purpose Article – Write the purpose of your article here. The mission and vision statements of your club go here. - Membership Article – Write everything related to the membership of the club here. This may include the qualifications of being a member and how to maintain that membership.
