Thanksgiving is a festival celebrated in the USA on the fourth Thursday of November every year. It is believed to be the day of being thankful for every little thing that has ever happened to you, good or bad. During Thanksgiving week, there are various templates one can use to send out cards.

6 Steps to Create a Thanksgiving Lesson Plan

Step 1: Title of the Festive Plan

Having a suitable title for your Thanksgiving free plan will make it eye-catching and attractive for others to read. It’ll make them want to immediately have a look at it if you make the title attractive enough with a proper design and the correct use of words.

Step 2: Spread out your Objectives

Try having various goals and objectives for your lesson plan. It can contain the featured stories of different stories on Thanksgiving from different perspectives. Students will try to understand as to why the Pilgrims came to America and why is Thanksgiving an important festival of the country, they can figure out what their Thanksgiving family traditions would be, etc.

Step 3: Resources and Materials

Make a list of the resources and materials you will be needing for the activities planned out for Thanksgiving week. The activities can be art, literature, music, dance, group discussions, etc. These will help your students understand the origin of the festival and also they will get to know how it is celebrated in different households across the country. This can be explained by using appropriate props in the class.

Step 4: Procedure

Plan the steps as to how you are going to make all your students take part in all the group activities for the week. Divide the students into teams/groups, give them topics on which they have to work and give them time to pan out their minds and come up with different plans. This would make the class very interesting and there would be a lot to learn from each team.

Step 5: Allot Time

Allot a certain time limit for each activity. This will make the students work faster and use their minds with almost capabilities to win. Also, positively reinforce them by saying that whoever wins, they will be awarded. This will make them work harder and think at their best to win the award.

Step 6: Assessment

After the class ends, make an assessment as to how much one knows about Thanksgiving. This will make you have a clear understanding about how much you need to teach the class on the festival and what other activities, plays, dramas, etc. you can make them do in class to understand the concept better.
