Whereas it is essential to maintain order, promote public safety, and preserve the quality of life within the City of Kingston, Ontario, Canada, the municipal government hereby establishes the following set of regulations and rules, known as the City of Kingston Bylaws, to govern various aspects of community life and ensure compliance with local laws.

Section 1: Definitions

3.2. Exceptions: This provision shall not apply to noise resulting from activities authorized by a permit issued by the City, emergencies, or construction activities during permitted hours.

Section 4: Property Maintenance

4.1. Grass and Weeds: Property owners are required to maintain their yards, lawns, and vacant lots in a clean and tidy condition, free from an overgrowth of grass and weeds exceeding a height of 20 centimeters.

4.2. Nuisance Abatement: Property owners must promptly abate any nuisance on their property, including but not limited to, the accumulation of garbage, debris, or hazardous materials.

Section 5: Animal Control

5.1. Leash Law: Dogs must be kept on a leash and under control when not on the owner's property.

5.2. Waste Removal: Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets and properly disposing of pet waste in designated receptacles.

Section 6: Parking Regulations

6.1. Parking Restrictions: Vehicles shall not be parked on City streets for longer than 48 consecutive hours without being moved.

6.2. Permit Parking: Parking in designated permit zones without a valid permit issued by the City is prohibited.

Section 7: Building Code Compliance

7.1. Building Permits: Before commencing any construction, alteration, or demolition of a building or structure, property owners must obtain the necessary permits from the City.

7.2. Inspections: The City reserves the right to conduct inspections to ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and other relevant regulations.

Section 8: Waste Management

8.1. Garbage Collection: Property owners must properly separate and dispose of garbage, recyclables, and organic waste by the City's waste management program.
