How to Make a Business Desk Calendar in Apple Pages
These days, the humble calendar is a vital luxury that’s often overlooked. As explained by WebExhibit (a long-running online museum), the history of the modern global calendar goes all the way back to ancient Rome, going through many changes and implementations since then. Even in the world of big businesses, calendars see plenty of use, whether we’re talking about an advertising agency or a law firm.
Be it a large or small desk calendar, remembering certain pointers is important when making one in Apple Pages. If you’d like to know about these, then have a quick read through our tips below.
1. Prepare an Appropriate Page Layout for Your Business Desk Calendar
Before working on your calendar’s contents, it’s essential that you first set up a proper layout for its pages.
After opening a new document in Apple Pages, go into the Document sidebar menu and turn off the Document Body option. Next, in the same menu, match the page size to your local area’s standard. Then, set the page orientation.
2. Give Your Business Desk Calendar a Professional Cover
An important aspect of any calendar’s aesthetics is its cover page.
For your own desk calendar design, professionally shot photos are a good idea for the cover. However, it’s about more than just using an eye-catching picture—it’s also about being thematically appropriate. Since you’re working on business-oriented material, then use images of your establishment, the employees, the company logo, and so on.
3. Incorporate Grid Tables in Your Business Desk Calendar
When creating actual pages for the months in your calendar document, setting up tables is required.
With the desk calendar’s cover taken care of, add a new page by using the + option in the above toolbar. Then, select the Table option in the same toolbar before setting up the cells. When preparing the table’s cell arrangement, give it seven rows for the days of the week, along with 6 rows for the day labels (top row) and the dates.
4. Fill in Your Business Desk Calendar Page with Information
In the table’s top row, label each cell with a day of the week, starting from either Monday or Sunday. Next, in the next row, enter the first under the corresponding day, continuing to the right and then downwards with each successive date.
Moving on, use a text box to label the page with its corresponding month. Click the Text button in the toolbar and then pick a spot above the table, at the top of your page. Click-drag along the desired area to determine the text box’s size. Afterward, simply select the text box to type in the month’s name. Also, you can spruce up your calendar’s look with graphic design, artwork, cell colors, font styles, etc.
