Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to provide you with my current financial circumstances. I have enclosed a copy of my budget with the letter.

It is evident that my outgoings are more than I am presently earning. My undisclosed sickness has been a major factor in this aspect as I had to take leave from work for 4 months. Due to the recent coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, my situation has only worsened. I have unfortunately been put on a temporary layoff for three months. 

I would be very grateful if you could consider writing off the outstanding debt owing as it has become impossible for me to maintain payments of any kind. My hands were already full of medical and household bills and the added burden of unemployment has put me into yet more distress. 

With an uncertain future and present financial and health hardships, continued high debt level may have a serious effect on my mental being. That is why I request you to consider my request to write off the debt.
