How to Make a Business Gannt Chart in Excel

1. Set Up Your Chart’s Data
To start off, be sure that you have the data needed for the chart. So, open up MS Excel and create a table that contains the data for your chart to refer to.
As an example, create a table by reserving three columns labeled Task, Start Date, and Days to Complete. Next, input the appropriate data under each column.
2. Add a Base Chart
If you already have a Gantt chart template downloaded and ready, then simply open it in the application. Otherwise, use the Insert option to add a stacked bar chart to your document.
Next, plan out a series for each column in your data table; right-click the chart and choose “select data,” then highlight a data column and make detailed adjustments in the pop-up window before confirming.
3. Customize Your Gantt Chart
To customize the chart, use the different tools and features found at the top of Excel or when you right-click your chart. Go ahead and edit the filter, format, labels, layout, etc.

4. Update as Required
