Causes of Family Dispute

Every family has a whole kind of drama of their own. Almost every setup of family dispute shown on mainstream media rings a bell for families of all social classes. Family disputes happen for various of reasons. Each one is valid for the dispute to take place. You may also see simple family tree templates.

1. Power struggle.

There is nothing new to power struggle, even in the most stable of families. Power struggle happens when one party asserts for something that can potentially harm him while the other party does everything to stop it. One example of power struggle within the family is when a child wants to be independent and explore the world without caring for the consequences. You may also see family tree chart templates.

As parents, they do everything to protect their child from potential harm that might ruin them in an instant. Misunderstandings arise and this can lead to the fall out of the relationship. Lack of communication becomes the root of these as one party fights for what he wants. This kind of setup is present in rich, middle class and poor families. You may also see a free family tree.

2. Sibling rivalry.

Most families have more than one children. Sibling rivalry is a normal event in any household, no matter how old the children are. This kind of rivalry stems from childhood. When children are young, their rivalry is often caused by who gets showered with more attention by the parents. Material things being given to the other sibling can cause jealousy. You may also see sample family tree diagrams.

As they grow older, the rivalry has deep-rooted causes that is impossible to sort out. It can be about money, parental relationships, and falling in love with the same person. Sibling rivalry remains a common cause of family dispute. It can only be solved when both siblings are willing to talk about it. You may also see powerpoint family tree templates.

3. Interference of relatives.

There is nothing wrong with living with other relatives, especially in countries where family ties are still valued after marriage like in South American and Southeast Asian countries. However, it is a different story when relatives start to interfere with the family’s personal problem. The privacy feels invaded and there is little to no freedom for the parents to decide on their own. This can cause lots of conflict and misunderstanding between the family and the relatives. 4. Butting heads with in-laws.

When we get married, we expect our partners to put us above anything else. It is important that before marriage, we have to build a healthy relationship with our partner’s parents. When we clash with our in-laws, there is a big tendency that our partners will side with their parents. It leaves us alone and hurting. We have no choice but to suck in all our hatred and grievances. The in-laws can become vicious when they are constantly provoked. You may also see seven generation family tree templates.

5. Jobs and finances.

Not having enough money to pay bills is one of the reason for family dispute. This is caused by choosing the wrong kind of job. By having low finances, basic needs such as food is not met on a daily basis. Recreation and rent is also sacrificed. If a parent is away from home most of the time because of his nature of job, this causes dispute as to how his children will interact with him. They become distant to their parent and causes more complicated problems. You may also see word family tree templates.

6. Parenting styles and child discipline.

Parents have their own ways of disciplining their children. Some are too lax, while others are too uptight. Both parents should act as disciplinarians to their children. If one acts as the consoler, the parents would disagree with each other. The consoler tolerates the child’s wrongdoing while the disciplinarian does the opposite.
