I hope this email finds you well. I'm writing to inform you that I will not be able to come to the office for a few days. I got sick and it appears to be the flu.

I had visited the doctor earlier today and he had advised me to take a rest for a week. I will take this time to recover and rest. I understand the inconvenience this may cause and I assure you that I will make up for the time lost once I recover.
