A seminar is a form of academic instruction provided by a commercial or professional company or by an academic institution. Its aim is to bring together small groups for recurring meetings, with each meeting focusing on a different topic and requiring everyone present to participate. This is often achieved by a continuous Socratic conversation with a seminar leader or lecturer, or a more formal presentation of the study. It's basically a place where students can discuss assigned readings, ask questions, and hold debates.
Seminars usually have fewer students per professor than regular classes and are more centered on their subject matter. Term articles, tests, interviews, and a number of other assignments may all be part of a seminar. Seminars are almost always required for graduation from a university. The aim of the seminar system is to further familiarise students with the methods of their chosen topic while also enabling them to engage with real-world examples of practical problems that emerge regularly during the study. Seminar classes are usually reserved for upper-class students, but they are commonly used for all years at UK and Australian universities. A seminar at some European universities can be a wide lecture course, particularly when led by a well-known thinker. The term seminar is also used to describe a research talk, often given by a visiting researcher and primarily attended by academics, research staff, and postgraduate students. Seminars can be conducted at schools, universities, colleges, events, and, conferences.
