FIRST BUS DRIVER JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Role and Summary 

A First Bus Driver is responsible for operating the first bus of the day. He/She must be on time in reporting for work at the bus route's first stop. It's his/her primary duty to transport the day's first batch of passengers to their respective destination on schedule. A First Bus Driver is also responsible for the regular maintenance of the bus. He/She immediately report damages or malfunctions with it so that repairs will be made promptly.  

A. Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Inspects the condition of the bus's engines, brakes, tires, and steering gears before starting the first trip. 
  • Ensures that the bus's seats and floor are properly cleaned.  
  • Collaborates with the conductor in facilitating the loading and unloading of passengers. 
  • Transports passengers to their desired destinations on time.  
  • Adheres to the traffic rules and road safety guidelines in operating the bus. 
  • Documents the entire bus trip on a report or log sheet.  
  • Performs minor maintenance such as lube job, oil change, and tire pressure adjustments. 
  • Reports damages with the bus's engines and other mechanical components for immediate repairs.

B. Skills

  • Must have expert level driving skills. 
  • Has above-average hand and eye coordination.
